Mindy lives in Sonoma, CA with her husband and 3 children. She has a daughter with Down syndrome, a daughter with dyslexia and ADHD and a son with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia and ADHD.
She is a dyslexia specialist, certified dyslexia screener and certified in Barton Reading and Spelling.

Mindy Luby


Mindy is a regional leader for Decoding Dyslexia California, a member of the International Dyslexia Association, Council of Parents, Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA), Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators, National Down Syndrome Society, and American Cancer Association Cancer Action Network. She co-founded the Sonoma Valley Special Education Advisory Council and was recently appointed to serve as a member on the Northern California Office of Administrative Hearings Special Education Advisory Committee. Mindy was part of the grassroots movement that wrote California Dyslexia Law, AB 1369 (2015-2016) and headed the lobbying effort for it in Sacramento bringing the bill to pass in California Congress. Advocating has come into Mindy’s life in many areas, beginning when her daughter with Down syndrome was born and shortly after was diagnosed with leukemia. She has traveled to Washington DC for American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network and Alliance for Childhood Cancer to lobby our federal leaders for funding cancer programs. Whether local, state, or federal advocating for children and people with disabilities has become a life long passion.

Celeste lives in Sonoma, CA with her husband and children. She is the parent of several children ranging in ages from adults to middle school age children. A parent of three BIPOC children with IEP’s for a variety of disabilities (dyslexia, ADHD, Autism), she has had to advocate for the civil rights for her own children who belong to multiple protected classes. This journey led Celeste to seek extensive training in the area of the intersection of disability and Title VI and Title IX in public education. This training along with her own large body of advocacy work and knowledge on the subject of the intersection of disability, race, and gender has led Celeste to leading trainings on the subject.

Celeste Winders


Celeste spent her youth and most of her 20’s working to support adolescents and adults with a variety of needs at Sonoma Developmental Center in order to assist in furthering their independence.
Celeste is a member of, and has received training through, Council of Parents, Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA) and is the co-founder of the Sonoma Valley Special Education Advisory Council. Celeste is also a founding member of Save Your Six , an organization dedicated to educating and advocating for Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 in public education. A life-long learner, Celeste regularly attends trainings and workshops through the Federal and CA Departments of Education, COPAA, disability specific organizations, civil rights trainings and more.
